Crocheted pillows are beautiful and creative, and also help give a second life to old items. If you have been knitting for a short time, then pillows are the best place to start. There is no need for complex calculations here, because the crochet pillow pattern is simple and no questions should arise. To express your creativity, you need to explore several pillow options. For both experienced craftswomen and beginners, in the article you will find photographs, descriptions of varieties and diagrams.
You will need: yarn of different colors, scissors, a marker, a hook and fabric that will be needed for the lining.
We knit a pillow using the Zigzag technique for beginners using a crochet hook in a sequence of 240 air loops. Next, we will tie a fabric of single crochets behind the back wall.
1st row: 1 single crochet (dc) to the second loop from the hook: 9 dc * 3 dc in one loop 10 dc. Skip the next loop and insert the hook into the next one. We pull out the thread, grabbing the working thread, and knit all the loops at once (tooth down) 10 tbsp. * Repeat until the end of the chain. You will get 10 teeth.
2nd row. 1 chain loop: decrease 1 loop (hook the back wall of the loop and pull the loop onto the hook, then hook the hook over the back wall of the next loop and pull it back onto the hook, grabbing the thread, and tie all the loops on the hook), 9 single crochets, * 3 sc in one loop 10 sc insert the hook into the next loop and pull the thread, lower one loop, then insert the hook into the next loop and pull the thread, grabbing the working thread and passing it through the loops on the hook; 10 st.bn.*
Knit the last 2 loops, decreasing in the same way as the 2 initial loops of this row. Then knit the required number of rows. Then we sew the fabric with a hook into a circle, relying on the colors, hiding the ends of the threads.
We knit the sharp corners using a crochet hook in single crochet columns on the front side to form ribs, like on canvas. We hide the ends of the threads on the wrong side, tighten the corner from the outside and secure it inside.
We take two rings, tie them in single crochets and select two large buttons. Sew the ring to the center. We tie the buttons in single crochet columns.
We cut out and sew the lining cover, gather it with thread on one side and tighten it. We insert it into the pillow and fill it with filling. We collect it under the treasure on the other side, tighten it and secure it. We close the corners of the other side of the pillow with a crochet hook. Sew the second ring to the center.
We sew buttons to the center on one and the other side of the pillow. This concludes the master class. This is what we get as a result:
The cat brings peace and good energy to the home. It doesn’t matter what form the cat is in: alive, porcelain or tied up. Make a cat pillow using a hook and it will be easier for you to fall asleep. In addition, knitting itself has a positive effect on your internal state. Beginners can try to knit a whole model; experienced craftswomen can create a cat with small details. Here is a crochet pillow pattern:
For the workflow of creating such a grass pillow, you will need a 3.5 mm crochet hook and grass yarn.
You can take a pillow with a white cover that is lying around and knit a fluffy, soft pillowcase for it.
A pillow crocheted from granny squares is the prototype of famous rugs and rugs. It is easy to knit, and the advantage is that it eliminates multiple remnants of various yarns. When knitting, use the classic pattern, and choose colors to suit your taste.
Since ancient times, the ladybug personifies the messenger of the gods, who descends from the sky and brings good. When we were children, everyone who had a lady cow sit on their hand would throw it into the air and make a wish. I remembered such moments and came up with the idea of making a pillow in the shape of this funny bug. Such a ladybug is unlikely to fulfill your wishes, but it will definitely create coziness at home!
For such a pillow you will need red and black threads, black lightning and eyes from toys. We select the thickness of the hook based on the thickness of the threads.
Tummy. The yarn is black. Cast on five air loops, form them into a ring and knit them in single crochet columns. The length of the zipper should be equal to the diameter of the tummy circle.
Back. Red threads. This element is assembled from two parts. 2 semicircles are knitted separately.
5 air loops are cast on and connected in the shape of a ring. We knit the piece with canvas. We knit 4 loops out of the 5 cast on with 8 single crochets. We unfold the part on the other side, knit 13 columns of non-slip stitches. We unfold the element again and change the direction of movement of the hook. We knit 16 st.b/n. Further similar. Remember to increase stitches in each row.
There should be 2 parts of the back. Their range should be one cm wider than the circle located below. They should be in the form of a semicircle, but not perfectly smooth, but a little larger. There should also be “waves”. This is how it should be so that the back of the insect is convex.
Along the diameter line, knit both red elements with 2 rows of single crochets. We work with black thread. Attaching a zipper.
We knit the head with black thread. The element is knitted in the round to create an analogue of a hat. Air loops - 5 pieces, 9 tbsp. without crochet, 16 tbsp, 24 tbsp, 34 tbsp, 40 tbsp, 42 tbsp, + 8 rows of 42 tbsp.
Using black thread we also knit dots for the bug’s wings. We knit 6 circles, the diameter of which is 2.5-3 cm. Sew to the back with sewing thread.
The paws are also knitted with black thread. We knit six small caps: 5 ch, 10 treble, 20 treble, 20 treble, 20 treble. We place the back and tummy next to each other and secure them with stitches on several sides. This is necessary so that the elements do not “float”. We place the paws symmetrically on each side, three pieces. We sew them to the main elements.
Using a “crawfish step,” we fasten the tummy and back with black thread, starting from the tail and moving counterclockwise. “Rabble step” is single crochet, which is knitted from the loops of the last row. The hook should pass through both layers - the tummy and the back.
In the place where the legs get in the way, we knit a sequence of chain stitches slightly larger than the width of the leg. With this we will move to the next edge and continue our lesson.
He will put his head to his tummy. Its center should be where the lightning passes. We connect with a “crawfish step”. We carry out similar actions on the other half of the product. Turn the pillow inside out. Where the paws were attached, we knit 4 layers at once in a “crawfish step”. At the end of this process, remove the threads from the running stitches.
The sequence of air loops that was left after connecting the top and bottom is pulled inside the tummy before the process begins. Let's go back to the head. From the inside out, “crawfish step” we attach the remaining part of the cap to the back. We fill our heads with padding polyester.
We take 1 meter of black thread and thread it with a crochet hook through the bug’s face. Make the ends straight. To make antennae, we knit a chain of air loops from the insect’s head. We drag the ends of the chain into the cap with a hook. Rings are obtained. Using glue, attach the eyes. You can use buttons instead.
For stuffing, you can take padding polyester. So, fasten the snake. That's it, the pillow is done!
Here you can watch a video that describes everything in detail:

Hello everyone, friends!
Today I have a selection of crocheted pillows from motifs. I have accumulated interesting patterns in my bookmarks, I made a video for some models, and I knitted something myself, as without this)).
I will include in this post a reminder about the pillows made from square motifs already available on the blog, for which there is a description of knitting, and new patterns of motifs for pillows, they are quite simple, well, it couldn’t be simpler!
The latest version features a pillow made from embroidered motifs. The openwork motif is knitted according to the given pattern, and the dense one, on which embroidery is subsequently performed, is knitted with single crochets, their number will need to be counted by the number of loops of the last row of the openwork motif.
There is a separate publication in which you can find a pattern, a description of knitting, and a master class with photos.
First of all, let's figure out what yarn to use. Of course, in some cases, both acrylic and wool are suitable, especially if you plan to use leftover yarn. But knitted cotton pillows look best, neater and more beautiful.
Again, depending on the size of the motif and their number, you need to determine the thickness of the thread.
And, as always, we select the hook to match the yarn.
The most important thing is to choose beautiful colors that are in harmony with each other.
You have chosen the yarn and hook, now you can try to knit one motif and estimate the size of the future pillow, see if everything suits you.
If yes, we knit all the motifs for the pillow and then connect them together.
You can connect both on the face and on the back. If you want the seam to be less noticeable, it is better to do it from the wrong side; in this case, I like to connect the inner loops with connecting posts.
If you connect along the front side (I do this with single crochets on both sides of the loop), then at the seam you will get a beautiful convex scar.
The reverse side of the pillow can be knitted from the same motifs or with a solid fabric - single crochet, double crochet, granny square.
Here, if you wish, you can:
Usually, a simple, uncomplicated border is knitted along the edge of the finished pillow; the standard version is with toes made from arches tied with columns.
Here's an interesting diagram:
Pillows with these pillows turn out very beautifully; see how to knit one like this in my master class.
I also like to tie the pillow in a simple step - with columns in the opposite direction.
Here I present to you a video master class on knitting motifs for the three pillows in the photo above, as well as for my works, which I have already talked about. I add to them one more dream come true - I wanted to knit it in exactly this design and in a soft pink color. By the way, I also found a diagram for it.
Pillows knitted with openwork squares will decorate your home and add coziness.
Roses in your hands will “bloom” quickly), since they are made from thick yarn with a thick hook according to a very simple pattern.
Operating procedure:
The final goal of the work is a rectangular pillow with small roses - size 40 x 60 cm. The upper part of the pillowcase consists of 42 fragments, made with crochet number 3 from the remains of wool yarn (white, yellow, green, blue and black). For each fragment you need 10-15 g of yarn, depending on its quality.
Knitting the fragment begins from the center, with a chain of 12 air loops. They are closed with a half-column - the 1st circle is obtained.
2nd circle - 4 chains of 4 air loops, secured with half-columns on a ring through 2 loops of the chain.
After the 7th round, green leaves are knitted, making 4 double crochets from the top point of the rose petal and 1 chain crochet between them and 2 single crochets between the petals (lower point). Along the entire circle from double crochet to single crochet, 2 chain stitches are knitted.
9th circle - double crochets made of black yarn.
To ensure that all fragments are the same size, the edges of the finished fragment are lightly moistened with cold water and placed on the template. It is done like this: draw a square of the required size on a board and drive 8 small nails into the corners of the square and in the middle of each side. The wet fragment, rose side up, is placed on the nails and, after it has dried, removed. Next, use the template for the next fragment.
The finished fragments are connected to each other using single crochets of blue yarn: first, in strips of 6 fragments (the short side of the pillowcase) - a total of 7 strips, then they are connected to each other.
It is better to make the lower part of the pillowcase from blue or black wool fabric. Fill the pillow with filling and that's it, your job is done.
